All they do in my eyes is take away from the story that I spent money to read! It seemed like all the leads had a chance to do was have sex, really really hot sex, but still! Cuando surja un problema, podemos solucionarlo. Alistair hizo a un lado la ansiedad que amenazaba con dejarlo sin voz. Aug 04, Jenn rated it liked it. I would give a 3. I did enjoy this book, and I will say it took a few chapters to get used to the Words and how they where used.

I had no complaints on the story I just didn't connect with it like The Crossfire Series. This was the first erotic book that I read and I enjoyed it. It wasn't so bad.

I expected worst. Espero que los siguientes sean igual. Jan 05, Ingie rated it liked it Shelves: This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers. To view it, click here.

It took me a little while to get into the book. But once it started to pick up I couldn't put it down. The book is about the romance of Jessica and Alistair. Only it takes seven years for their romance to begin. During those seven years Jessica is Lady Tarley. They do have one intimate connection before she married.

The night before her wedding, Jessica had It took me a little while to get into the book. The night before her wedding, Jessica had watched Alistair having sex with another woman. It had completely aroused her, but she satisfied her desire with the man that became her husband. She has a very happy marriage. But then her husband dies of consumption. During those years, Alistair tries to stay away from England. He had been very much in love with Jessica and thought it best to stay away.

Once her husband dies, Jessica has to travel to Jamaica to see about the property her husband left her. Her brother-in-law Michael asks his fried, which happens to be Alistair, to accompany her in order to make sure she is well taken care. Which, of course, Alistair intends to do personally.

Michael has no idea of how his friend feels. During their trip, Alistair and Jessica become closer, especially as they begin to share their past. She was physically abused by her father. He was product of an affair. They eventually give in to their desires. There is also a side story with Jessica's sister Hester and her brother-in-law Michael. Hester is an abusive marriage, and she is also pregnant. Michael has been hopelessly in love with Hester for years, and has become aware that Hester's husband is abusive to her.

Once in Jamaica, Alistair proposes to Jessica. She agrees to become his wife. When she receives a letter from her sister, Jessica knows she has to return to England.

Without giving away what happens next, this is where the book really starts to get good. Until I got this point, the book felt very slow to me.

This is the second book i've read by miss Day outside her Crossfire Series and i was struck by how similair the two are.

This is the story of a woman who suffered abuse as a child and still lives with the scars. Newly a widow, she has booked a ship to the carrabean to oversee the sale of the plantation left to her by her husband. With her is her brother-inlaw's childhood friend, a renowned rougue with a partan for accepting any wager and being something of a cad who Jenifer just so happened to o This is the second book i've read by miss Day outside her Crossfire Series and i was struck by how similair the two are.

With her is her brother-inlaw's childhood friend, a renowned rougue with a partan for accepting any wager and being something of a cad who Jenifer just so happened to of witnessed whoring himself seven years before and had lusted after her for well over a decade.

Now as i said the previous book i read, Ask For It , is very simillair except where the over had the notion of a plot and pacing, this is very slow and with little excitment except for a few raunchy sex scenes happening untill the ending when it all seems to happen at once. Again the woman is apparantly barren, beleived just because her husband couldn't get her pregnant while he had a child by a mistress; the dialogue is wordy to the extent that i was tempted to find a dictionary; more than a few things are very inaccurate, historically speaking.

Can't say i'd recomend this, but then i need something in the book, a villain or secret or something being lead up to keep me reading. If you have read AFI, save your money, you've already read most of this. Dec 10, Ali rated it liked it Shelves: I actually read this about a month ago I wasn't going to say anything about the book, because it wasn't especially memorable.

However, I feel that I should jot a few thoughts down just in case I'm ever suffering Cross trilogy withdrawal symptoms again and think Hmm, this has a catchy title What I DO recall about this book is one rather hot scene between the hero and some random female in the first few pages of the book Not so much any other er I a I actually read this about a month ago I also recall rolling my eyes so many times at the ridiculous way they talked that I actually dislodged my contact and spent a good 20 minutes searching inside my eye for it.

It's possible that may have dimmed some of the romance for me I'm adding one star back for that View all 4 comments. The kind of book I've started to crave in the summer - steamy but in a historical setting. Lacking details in none-sexual situations, though, which significantly lowers the rating.

Even though the story's set in the early s I had trouble imagining how everything looked, from clothes to houses, which at one point made me think of a much later setting Jul 31, Christy rated it liked it. I usually don't read a lot of historical romances, but I enjoyed this story.

It took a little while to get used to the lingo but I really liked Alistair and Jess, and it was pretty steamy! View 1 comment. Feb 05, İnci rated it liked it. For a historical romance, it's quite dull, not much flair unless you prefer plots with a crazy amount of steamy sexual chemistry.

It started of with voyeurism, which is quite daunting for a historical romance genre I should think. Jess and Alistair's childhood and their rekindle friendship is nice, more of a self discovery for each of them. Their banters are fun. Whereas Hester and Michael's story is OK but quite sad. Reason being, i enjoyed Hester's side of the story more. Had the role been reversed and Jess was going through what Hester had for a life then this book would have received more stars.

This is an erotic romance in a historical setting and it is done pretty well.

The story revolves around Jessica, who on the eve of her wedding to Lord Tarley, chances to see Alistair being paid to service a lady in the garden. It is a pivotal moment that will loom large years later when Jessica is the widow of Tarley and Alistair returns to romance her. There is a lot of hot steamy romance here - and it is not just of the bodice-ripping variety.

There's a secondary story involving Jessica's sist This is an erotic romance in a historical setting and it is done pretty well. There's a secondary story involving Jessica's sister, Hester, and her husband Lord Regmont and the brother of the late Lord Tarley, Micheal.

I liked this story and the steamy bits served to move the action and romance along. My first historical romance book, and surprised that it was by Sylvia Day! There were some slow parts.
