Nullam malesuada egestas tincidunt. Pellentesque nec risus dui. Anthony Iannarino never set out to become a salesman. He fell into his profession by accident, and now has turned his focus to a question that's been debated for at least a century: Why are a small number of salespeople in any field hugely successful, while the rest are stuck with mediocre results at best?
Since then, and for over 25 years, he has read hundreds of books, tested countless strategies, and interviewed dozens of the best salespeople to figure out what sets the extraordinary ones apart from the rest.
What's the secret to sales success? If you're like most business leaders, you'd say it's fundamentally about relationships - and you'd be wrong. The best salespeople don't just build relationships with customers. They challenge them. The need to understand what top-performing reps are doing that their average performing colleagues are not drove Matthew Dixon, Brent Adamson, and their colleagues at Corporate Executive Board to investigate the skills, behaviors, knowledge, and attitudes that matter most for high performance.
The sales profession is in the midst of a perfect storm.
Buyers have more power - more information, more at stake, and more control over the sales process - than any time in history. Technology is bringing disruptive change at an ever-increasing pace, creating fear and uncertainty that leaves buyers clinging to the status quo. For the first time ever, Jordan Belfort opens his playbook and gives listeners access to his exclusive step-by-step system - the same system he used to create massive wealth for himself, his clients, and his sales teams.
Now, in Way of the Wolf , Belfort is ready to unleash the power of persuasion to a whole new generation of listeners, revealing how anyone can bounce back from devastating setbacks, master the art of persuasion, and build wealth. People don't buy from people they like. Your buyer doesn't care about you or your product or service. It's not your job to overcome objections, it's your buyer's.
Closing isn't a skill of good salespeople; it's the skill of weak salespeople. Price isn't the main reason salespeople lose the sale. Gap Selling shreds traditional and closely held sales beliefs that have been hurting salespeople for decades.
For years, salespeople have embraced a myriad of sales tactics and belief systems that have unknowingly created many of the issues they have been trying to avoid. I have been in sales for over 20 years and most of this book highlights points that many of us have had to learn the hard way. Jeffrey is clear and straight to the point.
He also has no problem telling us how good he is and how much we suck. If you can get through the ego and bile this is a very good book. If you re just getting started in sales this is a must read. As a Professional Procurement and Sales Manager, some of the advice given in this book is questionable. The writer has the sales profile of someone that would have a difficult time getting an appointment with me. Many of the tips are absolute rubbish and look as if were made up as he wrote the book.
The book lacks practical advice regarding how to improve your sales ability. Moreover, Gitomer's style is brash and annoying, which is only compounded by his constant efforts to get you to go to his web site to learn information in an obvious effort to sell you further products.
If the information is something the reader needs to know, it should be in this book.
The Little Red Book of Selling: 12.5 Principles of Sales Greatness
As a salesman I found that my selling's issues are not just because of me but also because of this profession. There's a lot of good information in this book to become PRO.
Any additional comments? Jeffrey Gitomer really impressed me with this audiobook! We are all in sales, but for those of us that call our profession "Sales", this book has some great tips.
I will listen to this again and again. Too bad his other books are not audiobooks. It really helps salesmen that travel a lot with our "reading". The only negative is he "sells" all of his other stuff a lot, but I have purchased his hard bound books in addition to the audible downloads.
Each time I pick up something new and usable. I intend to make the Little Red Book a constant in my reading and listening. Not only have I learned a lot, but I am incorporating what I learn in my work. People who are looking for a psedu-motivational sales book without specific sales tactics. It was like a bad infomercial with little substance.
The fake crying, constantly yelling of "You suck! If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from The Little Red Book of Selling? The book constantly sounds like Gitomer is just trying to sell the reader on his product without ever offering anything useful, other than trite tips like not watching tv at night and "working harder".
