An employee training manager is knowledgeable about how organizations work and knows how to get things done both through formal channels and the informal network. They understand the origin and reasoning behind key policies, practices and procedures.
They also grasp how organizational cultures are formed. Curiosity should not be associated with negative things but with a natural tendency to question ideas and practices thus leading to professional advancement. An employee training program manager deals with a large number of details. It requires that details, data and facts are analyzed and challenged prior to making decisions.

They can learn new skills and knowledge and they are good at learning new industry, company, product, or technical knowledge.
They do well in technical courses and seminars. An employee training program manager can achieve knowledge of the training industry by developing certain sub-skills.
They can marshal resources to get things done. They can orchestrate multiple activities at once to accomplish a goal. A skilled employee training program manager uses resources effectively and efficiently arranges information and files in a useful manner. Ambition is another characteristic successful employee training program managers possess. They know what they want from a career and actively work on it. They are career knowledgeable and make things happen for themselves.
An employee training program manager knows all about change management. They can decide and act without having the total picture.
They are not upset when things are up in the air. An employee training program manager is results driven.
They can be counted on to exceed goals successfully and are constantly and consistently top performers. They are bottom-line oriented and they steadfastly push themselves and others for results. Peer relationships are another aspect of a successful employee training program manager. They can quickly find common ground and solve problems for the good of all. They can represent their own interests and yet be fair to other groups. An employee training program manager is able to solve problems with peers with a minimum of noise.
