Ich hoffe, dass das jemanden hilft. I loved the first Dwarves book: The story, while being far from original, was very enjoyable and engaging. In the follow-up, War of the Dwarves, cracks started to appear, showing such an ambitious storyline was just too big for one book, with Heitz being prone to focus on every intimate detail of a scene while being enjoyable it does take the attention away from the overall story somewhat , meaning some impo I loved the first Dwarves book: This trend continues here, where the scope just seems to be a bit too big and squeezed in.
We don't really have any sight of a large-scale assault from the orcs and trolls on the defences of the land, these are mentioned briefly as backstory, while the focus is on Rodario the actor trying to find his friend, while getting his end away left, right and centre.
The translation of this third book also seems lower quality than before, where some parts seem to be google-translated and don't really scan all that well in English. Compared to how well this was carried out on the first book, this is something of a let-down.
With only 2 books to go, I think the gap between them is going to grow as I find myself less keen to dive straight into the next one, and I haven't bought the 4th one yet though I have the 5th from Netgalley to review! And whether I will then read the Alfar prequels after that remains to be seen though they are sitting on my kindle. Fantasy Series An unknown force seeks the diamond which contains all the magical power of the land.
The alliance of races must band together in their attempts to find out and stop who is their true foe. Multiple options were presented and then the author walked away from them. As the reader, I was just sat to wonder what were the intentions of everyone. I was oddly okay with this because the pacing was solid. My biggest gri Fantasy Series An unknown force seeks the diamond which contains all the magical power of the land.
My biggest gripe of the novel was the ending. It felt as if it was a LOTR: The Return of the King ending. It just never ended.
The Unslayables are slain and then the author decides to continue the journey to return the stone. Even after all of this a slow pseudo epilogue just drags on about who is the true High King of the Dwarfs. The ending had this read last me an additional 4 days. The third installment in the series got things more complicated. Half-breed new creatures are threatening to invade, while the dwarf tribes are warring amongst themselves. Some tensions are too deep-seated to ever be completely left behind, and the entire book reads like a huge disillusionment with the world.
This corresponds best to the disappointment that is slowly starting to build into the heart of Tungdil, our main character, and which will cause him to uproot as his restlessness grows. It' The third installment in the series got things more complicated. It's a great continuation for the first two volumes, while I personally still prefer the 2nd and 4th books best. Sep 20, Daniel D. Simultaneous battle fronts and confusing development that is stretch too long and when the real climax of the book arrived the end of it was near.
Oct 02, Pat rated it really liked it Shelves: Etwas Pause, aber lesen werde ich ihn definitiv.

Once again Heitz's writing improves. The plot twists are better and more unexpected, the characters are more developed. It's a great series and I love it! Mar 23, Petra Gumz rated it it was amazing. Wie immer spannende Reise, mit Tungdil und seinen Freunden. What a roller-coaster; translation is very poor, it really didn't feel like the other dwarf books but the ending was well done so that makes up for it. Jun 05, Element Flame rated it it was ok.

Sep 05, Lars Jensen rated it it was amazing. Keeps getting better Took me awhile to get into this one and was hard to stay into it. However, great book with a fascinating ending. I know I will have no choice, I have to read the next one. Okay, cliff hanger ending; need to read next book Sep 23, SRue rated it it was amazing.
However, I have since discovered a fourth volume. I will therefore review this book as though it is indeed the conclusion of the saga.
As ever the action is relentless, with cliff-hanger chapters and crazy adventures. The dialogue is crisp as ever with well written characterisation.
The quality at times is comparable to the previous two volumes; unfortunately there are a few misfires this time around. The problem is trying to relate to the main protagonist, Tungdil. It is hard to sympathise with a lead character with so little morals, namely his romantic involvements, which can actually seem quite juvenile at times.
In the first two books Tungdil spent every spare moment pining for the so-called love of his life Balyndis. Quite suddenly, this time around, it seems Tungdil is a Dwarf Casanova switching from one woman to another.

Had it been a trilogy, as I mentioned earlier, then there would have been far too many questions left unanswered, which is a little annoying. The most irritating element concerns a familiar character from the previous books and a plot twist that takes everyone else far too long to figure out, yet anyone who reads this book will work it out very earlier on. The way certain characters can be so ignorant to what is happening around them, becomes frustrating eventually.
It would be so easy to go for the usual suspects and some of his creations are bordering on the disturbing. Without any doubt, all this certainly does make this series the best Dwarf story since the Hobbit. L-B1 FP Third book of four or more , it has an ending, even if not completely satisfying; to be read after the first two This book I did not like very much: I liked best the previous book.
Tungdil goes worse and worse: I don't think I'll read the fourth book anytime soon and I'll not recommend this book to anyone like I said: This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers.

Doch nun war es endlich an der Zeit, zu diesem Buch zu greifen. Varying words are used to the wrong context, in a poor way, or even the wrong genre! Le virus Skype - Comment retirer?
I'm also wondering if she had read the first two books, and if she did, how she could tamper with the characters so boldly? Previous page.
