I had a very good life before I became an author, with a lovely husband, children and house. But when I started writing I realised what I had been missing. The best thing is getting to try out lots of jobs I could never have had in real life through my characters. How do you start writing a new novel? I start with a theme. I have several subjects I long to explore bubbling around at any one time and when one comes to the top I start to think about my characters.

Then comes the plot. Although I know that it will be happy. What are the essentials of creating a good romance? I think a good hero is absolutely key, and then a heroine who the reader can recognise — not too perfect, but likeable.

Not necessarily hearts-and-flowers romantic but unexpected romance in surprising places. Why is research important? That said, some things can be impossible to research, like the judging at the Chelsea Flower Show, or when the Queen visits!

I do quite a lot of research personally. My early books were set around my own life — working in a cafe and being a cleaning lady were things I had actually done. However, eventually I ran out of life experience and had to do research. I love finding out fascinating things about subjects that interest me.

They are essential when you're writing an essay or other written assignment. They help you plan out your ideas and research prior to writing your final paper. They keep us busy in spare hours and make life happy.

It is only now that I learn what store of knowledge they have for us. We also learned of the diseases of plants and their remedies. We know that it is the fruit of earth on the label we feel the real joy of it. We enjoy the fresh air the cool Breeze and the pleasant shade of trees. They make us forget our worries and give us inspiration. They give us energy and teach us the dignity of labor. But I have never before felt the real joy they afford to the human mind. We learn how and when particular kinds of flowers and plants grow what conditions are necessary for hair growth what habits they have and under what favorable circumstances they can thrive.

The plants bring forth buds which blossom into lovely flowers of different colors. The flowering, creepers, the green grass, and the green hedge make the place so attractive.

I have always had a love for nature and have admired flowers and plants. It is a pleasure to dig the earth make flower beds and dig canals for water. This kind of physical exercise is delightful and enjoyable.

It is a source of great pleasure to watch the seeds sprout into plants with tiny and tender leaves. Creative writing on what i want to be when i grow up Before the advent of Christianity, separate religious and political orders were not clearly defined in most civilizations. People worshipped the gods of the particular state in which they lived, religion in such cases being but a department of the state.

Two distinct, but not altogether separate, areas of human life and activity had to be distinguished; hence, a theory of two powers came to form the basis of Christian thought and teaching from earliest times. Apostles, living under a pagan empire, taught respect for and obedience to the governing powers so long as such obedience did not violate the higher, or divine, law, which superseded political jurisdiction.

Among the Church Fathers, who lived in a period when Christianity had become the religion of the empire, the emphasis on the primacy of the spiritual was even stronger.

They insisted upon the independence of the church and the right of the church to judge the actions of the secular ruler. With the decline of the Roman Empire in the West, civil authority fell into the hands of the only educated class that remained—the churchmen. The church, which formed the only organized institution, became the seat of temporal as well as spiritual power. In the East the civil authorities, centred in Constantinople, dominated the ecclesiastical throughout the Byzantine period.

In , under Charlemagne, the empire was restored in the West, and by the 10th century many secular rulers held power throughout Europe. A period of political manipulation of the church hierarchy and a general decline in clerical zeal and piety brought vigorous action from a line of reforming popes, the most famous of whom was Gregory VII.

Thomas Aquinas, borrowing from Aristotle, aided in raising the dignity of the civil power by declaring the state a perfect society the other perfect society was the church and a necessary good.

My Account

The medieval struggle between secular and religious power came to a climax in the 14th century with the rise of nationalism and the increased prominence of lawyers, both royalist and canon. Numerous theorists contributed to the atmosphere of controversy, and the papacy finally met with disaster, first in the removal of the popes to Avignon under French influence and second with the Great Schism attendant upon an effort to bring the popes back to Rome.

Church discipline was relaxed, and church prestige fell in all parts of Europe. The immediate effect of the Reformation was to diminish the power of the church even further. Christianity in its fractured condition could offer no effective opposition to strong rulers, who now claimed divine right for their positions as head of church and state. Many Lutheran churches became, in effect, arms of the state.

In the 17th century there were few who believed that diversity of religious belief and a church unconnected with the civil power were possible in a unified state. Common religious standards were looked upon as a principal support of the political order. When the notions of diversity of belief and toleration of dissent did start to grow, they were not generally seen to conflict with the concept of a state church.

The The concept of secular government as expressed in the First Amendment to the U. Constitution reflected both the influence of the French Enlightenment on colonial intellectuals and the special interests of the established churches in preserving their separate and distinct identities.

The The great wave of migration to the United States by Roman Catholics in the s prompted a reassertion of the principle of secular government by state legislatures fearing allocation of government funds to parochial educational facilities.

The 20th century saw the First and Fourteenth amendments to the Constitution applied with considerable strictness by the courts in the field of education. Late in the century, conservative Christian groups in the United States generated considerable controversy by seeking textbook censorship, reversal of court prohibition of school prayer, and requirements that certain Biblical doctrines be taught in contradistinction to scientific theories.

Undergraduate coursework help The five-paragraph essay is a format of essay having five paragraphs: one introductory paragraph, three body paragraphs with support and development, and one concluding paragraph. Because of this structure, it is also known as a hamburger essay, one three one, or a three-tier essay. The introduction serves to inform the reader of the basic premises, and then to state the author's thesis, or central idea.

A thesis can also be used to point out the subject of each body paragraph. When a thesis essay is applied to this format, the first paragraph typically consists of a narrative hook, followed by a sentence that introduces the general theme, then another sentence narrowing the focus of the one previous.

If the author is using this format for a text-based thesis, then a sentence quoting the text, supporting the essay-writer's claim, would typically go here, along with the name of the text and the name of the author. Example: "In the book Night, Elie Wiesel says After this, the author narrows the discussion of the topic by stating or identifying a problem.

Often, an organizational sentence is used here to describe the layout of the paper. Finally, the last sentence of the first paragraph of such an essay would state the thesis the author is trying to prove. The thesis is often linked to a "road map" for the essay, which is basically an embedded outline stating precisely what the three body paragraphs will address and giving the items in the order of the presentation. Not to be confused with an organizational sentence, a thesis merely states "The book Night follows Elie Wiesel's journey from innocence to experience," while an organizational sentence directly states the structure and order of the essay.

Basically, the thesis statement should be proven throughout the essay. And in the conclusion everything is analyzed and summed up. Nunnally states that the form can be good for developing analytical skills that should then be expanded.
