His characters are charismatic and you will be rooting for them throughout the book. Another gem by Nix. I can't wait to read the next book. I like this book a lot. It started my interest in sci-fi books. Garth Nix has some amazing ideas for a new generation of sci-fi books. If anyone out there is in need of a new sci-fi book with some new ideas.

I highly recommend this fabulous book.

Mister Monday details the adventure of a schoolboy, Arthur Penhaligon, who, during an asthma attack is entrusted with a key by Mister Monday, a strange man from a place called the House or the Epicenter of the Universe.

After Mister Monday's henchmen, the Fetchers, release a plague amongst the occupants of Arthur's hometown, Arthur must use the key to enter the House and fight off stranger creatures to find a cure, and ultimately save the day.

The best way to describe this series is that it is a cross between The Chronicles of Narnia and Alice in Wonderland. The story is set in two realms. There is Arthur's hometown, which is depicted to be modern-day Earth and is called the Secondary Realm, and there is the House, the Epicenter of the Universe.

His descriptions of the House are so vivid and real, and enthrall readers within the first few chapters. The fantastical characters of the House are wonderful depicted, and become more interesting as the story progresses. Arthur's relationship with Mister Monday, is one of classic good versus evil, that never seems to be boring, and there are many laughs from the Will, as it tries to show its superiority over Arthur's mortal-ness. Mister Monday is full of historical references that gives the series more realism than most young-adult fantasy novels.

Firstly there is Arthur's name, Arthur Penhaligon, which most certainly must be a play on Arthur Pendragon, otherwise known as King Arthur. As the series develops the reader can see that each day of the week is matched with one of the seven deadly sins, which is a really neat concept that Garth Nix has latched on to.

With Mister Monday comes "Sloth". So much so that his dayroom is a large bath! Moon Rising. Sky Raiders. The Silver Mask Magisterium 4. Kingdom of Ash. Winter Turning Wings of Fire, Book 7.
