I heard a crash and felt a terrific jolt. Glass and steel flew everywhere.

My whole body seemed to be turning inside out. I heard myself scream. Dead at Suddenly, I awakened. It was very quiet. A police officer was standing over me.

Dad suddenly looked very old. The funeral was weird. I saw all my relatives and friends walk toward the casket. Some of my buddies were crying.

My chest was squeezing with an effort to repress the laughter that, unbidden, was threatening to explode. At the same time, I was terrified of her rage when she finally discovered what it was. I was also afraid she was going to, have a heart attack because she looked so scared.
